Thank you for your interest in listing your green business or products in the GreenerChattanooga Directory. In order for your listing to be approved, you must meet certain general guidelines that certify that your company is indeed “green”. This directory is designed to help consumers find true, socially responsible companies that are providing sustainable products and services in Chattanooga. Sorry, no “green washing” allowed! Buying local is an important aspect of being green, therefore our directory is generally limited to local companies. National chains may list only if the franchise is locally owned and operated. National or regional companies that do not sell directly to the public but have a substantial local presence may be considered (IE suppliers that do not directly compete with local companies or whose products local companies sell).
In general, your company must meet at least one of the general guidelines and describe to us your efforts to “go green”. Your company also must not break any of the specific guidelines for your category that begin with “No xxxx”. However, since some categories are new, we cannot provide guidelines for every single industry. We hope to continue adding more as we continue to research the categories. If you feel your company does not fit into the existing categories, we would be happy to create something that fits your business. We will allow certain companies like auto dealers to have a listing for green products only, provided that they only mention the green products they offer and that those products meet the requirements of the category. For companies that wish to list in multiple categories, you may do so as long as you meet at least one guideline for the category.
Proof that your company meets certain requirements may be required. We reserve the right to deny a listing to any company that we feel does not meet the standards of the Directory.
