We are a group of like-minded individuals who saw a need in Chattanooga for a place where people can go to find out about living a sustainable lifestyle. The goal of this site is simply to expose more people to green businesses, products, and ideas. Being green is about more than just global warming. Even if you think global warming is a big hoax (it's not), there are still tons of reasons to live a little greener. The world's stock of natural resources gets lower everyday and our consumption of those resources is growing - fast. We are running out of those resources in the United States, requiring us to deal with foreign countries, many who don't even like us! On top of everything else, most green tips end up saving you money, allowing you to put a little more green in your pocket.

We have been green from the start. We have a small, modest office that uses green power. This site is hosted in the United States on 100% renewable energy. The hosting company is carbon neutral - they even offset their employees travel to work! The Directory section has strict guidelines - you can't just list your green washed products there and get away with it. Businesses have to prove they are green. We only advertise on/in socially responsible mediums, especially digital outlets that require no material production. Every piece of literature, banner, sticker, and T-shirt is 100% green and PVC free. Green products are out there, they are just hard to find sometimes - that's why the Directory section is here!

We don't advertise on taxi toppers that cut 4-5mpg off cars that drive around aimlessly all day. We don't advertise on virgin paper, unsolicited, bulk direct mailings of which 70% end up in the trash (visit the Take Action page to see how you can stop this nonsense). 44% end up in the trash unopened! We might giveaway cool things like CFLs, but we aren't going to give away any trips with airplane or cruise ship travel that's going to double your carbon footprint in a matter of days!
